Nature’s Garden Express is the only Certified Organic e-grocer in the Southeast.
Last year we completed our Organic Certification through Quality Assurance International. This was a huge step for us and we are so thankful to be able to say that Nature’s Garden Express is a USDA Certified Organic operation.
QAI began certifying agricultural products in 1989, long before there was a national/federal organic standard. As a USDA-accredited certifying agent, QAI’s programs verify organic integrity at each link of the product handling chain, helping to assure compliance with organic standards for agricultural producers, food processing facilities, distributors, and ultimately, for consumers. ×
We at NGE are dedicated to providing the highest quality products available while also promoting health, wellness, and sustainability. By choosing to shop at Nature’s Garden Express, you are guaranteed to receive organic food products that are grown and transported in compliance with strict organic standards. For crops, this means that no prohibited chemicals, radiation, or genetic engineering are used on the product. For organic livestock products such as eggs, dairy, and meat, you can rest assured that the animals are not given any antibiotics or growth hormones. Although we have always believed in and provided Certified Organic products, our certification demonstrates our commitment to sustainable agriculture, the environment and upholding the standard set forth by the National Organic Program.
Why Choose Organic?
The USDA defines Organic agriculture as “an ecological production management system that promotes and enhances biodiversity, biological cycles, and soil biological activity. It is based on minimal use of off-farm inputs and management practices that restore, maintain, or enhance ecological harmony. The primary goal of organic agriculture is to optimize the health and productivity of interdependent communities of soil life, plants, animals and people.” ×
The idea behind organic farming is sustainability. It represents the “True” cost of production, taking all environmental factors into consideration unlike almost all other goods currently produced. By increasing the health of the environment, we ensure the health of the crops and ultimately the health of all living things. It’s about maintaining natural ecological balances. This beautiful balance gives us much more than just healthy fruits and vegetables.
More reasons to go organic:
- No use of chemicals, synthetic fertilizers or pesticides.
- No use of genetically modified organisms or GMO’s.
- It’s good for the environment.
- It’s a sustainable agricultural system.
- It’s a natural way to fertilize the soil.
- It fosters happy and healthy livestock.
- It helps maintain our open spaces.
- It doesn’t leak harmful chemicals into our water and ecosystems.
- It’s safer for wildlife.
- It tastes better.
- It supports smaller farms, which are more labor intensive, benefiting the rural economy.
- It helps promote sustainable living for farmers and their families and the community at large.
“We are so proud to be doing what we’re doing here in Georgia. I had tears in my eyes when we received the email from QAI on Tuesday evening. We’ve been so committed to this cause and have fought so hard to make our business work. It’s incredibly humbling to still be here serving our customers nearly 7 years after we decided to take a chance and start a healthy foods delivery company. We’ve grown as a company but also as individuals. We’ve built an amazing team of growers, food artisans, employees, logistical partners, marketing partners and an incredible network of loyal customers. We don’t exist without you all and are aware of this each day we come to work. Things are really looking up right now. Everything feels right!” – Michael Kirk, Owner
